Thought I’d put together some of my favourite products of 2018, since winter is upon us – things that have just been doing wonders for my dry/combination skin this wonderful winter.
Morning Energy Skin Brightening
Well.. this product has been my daily dose of painkiller in terms of keeping my skin even toned, refreshed and bright. Once applied this product can definitely be felt working on the skin. I absolutely love how this product is not drying once washed off.
Skin Doctor Ingrow go
Despite the lingering smell of this product, this product has helped massively in terms of ingrown hairs on my legs, chin and even private parts. Noticed that this product worked well when used efficiently.
Garnier Skin Active Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water
Walking into winter lol.. I knew it was important to keep my skin moisturised even when removing make up. As my skin type is dry/combination it is extremely important to use a Micellar water which leaves my skin feeling hydrated. This product does exactly that.
Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash
Again to help with removal of make up or to ensure my make up is completely been removed from my face. I always reach for my Garnier Skin Active Micellar Gel Wash. This product has no perfume and has a gentle formula which is right for my skin. Two/three pumps of this, soaked into the skin I promise you will leave your skin feeling cleanser and soothed. Lovely stuff.
Simple Skin Quench Sleeping Cream
Although this product is ideally supposed to be used at night.. me? I use it whenever my skin feels extra dry and in need of urgent moisture. I kid you not but this product is hydration heaven and a little really does go a long way.
Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel
Before applying my foundation and moisturiser (depending on the look going for) I always apply a little bit of Aloe Vera gel just to keep my foundation on for longer but also to lock in moisture. It works wonders, I tell you, especially in the winter months.
Shea Moisture African Black Soap w/ Shea Butter
Now I’ve been meaning to try something from the Shea Moisture collection especially after reading so much on other blogs. Now, I’m an avid Shea butter user especially at night and in the colder months this product hasn’t yet shown me what it’s supposed to do but I hope in time it will.
ORS Curls Unleashed
After featuring this product in a What’s New post I’ve decided that in terms of managing my hair (both natural and weaves) in the colder months this product and the condition and hair mask is my go-to. It honestly leaves my hair smelling bomb, soft and easier to manage.
Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Sleeping Mask
If you haven’t already check out my review on this product, especially in the winter months this product helps lock in moisture and oils. Using this product in the night really does go a long way in the morning.
100% Pure Tea Tree Essential Oil
Although tea tree oil does burn the skin, I personally feel the burning sensation happens because it’s the product working on the skin. Now this does carry a strong odour so I tend to use it at night before bed mainly to disinfect the skin pores. Tea tree oil naturally is drying so instead of just splashing it on to my skin I tend to just use a little on a cotton pad (mixed with witchhazel oil) and apply to the areas where my pores are.
Thank you for reading!
Hope you’re prepping for the festive season?
